LeBron James wedding certain to be monumental affair no matter how secret - NBA News | FOX Sports on MSN

Updated?Jul 15, 2013 9:35 PM ET

?

LeBron James and his fiancee Savannah Brinson recently sent out invitations to their wedding, which will be held in San Diego this September. And by all indications, it?s going to be a top-secret affair.

According to TMZ, which obtained a copy of the invite, there is no time or location listed for the ceremony, and prospective guests are being sent on a retrieval mission just to get the details.

There is a "Welcome Barbecue" on Friday night and a "Farewell Brunch" on Sunday morning, but no mention of the actual ceremony. Instead, guests were given a number to call by Aug. 1 to receive those top-secret deets.

Given the hush-hush nature of the wedding details, and given that LeBron is LeBron, we can only assume that this is going to be one lavish affair that makes one of Puffy's white parties look like a church picnic.

We haven?t received our invite yet, but we?re assuming that some or all of these features will be included:

? LeBron will hire whoever controlled the weather in the Beijing Olympics to make sure it?s a beautiful day out.

? Danny Boyle will direct the opening and closing ceremonies, and Dwyane Wade asks to add some CGI defenders to make him look more like a superhero.

? NASCAR drivers will handle valet duties. Which will also count as the second race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup:

? LeBron will have Chris Bosh be his ring bearer. Or his flower girl. Whichever.

? Jim Gray will officiate the service, which will go on pay-per-view with proceeds benefitting local Boys and Girls Clubs.

? Dwight Howard will pass out when the LeBron says, "Til death do us part."

? Guests will get up to leave three-quarters of the way through the vows.

? But they?ll return to shout ?Mazel Tov? as LeBron and Savannah stomp on Gatorade bottles at the end of the ceremony.

? And on the way out of the church, guests will toss chalk instead of rice:

? All the while, Joakim Noah will be kidnapped, tied up and forced to watch it Clockwork Orange-style.

? As for the reception, the entertainment will be Drake opening up for Jay-Z opening up for hologram Tupac.

? A Shaq-led security team will be on hand to make sure Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn are nowhere near the premesis.

? Guests will be able to try their hand at the Skip Bayless dunk tank:

? An Arn Tellem booth will be set up to help attendees figure out where they want to play together next summer.

? A chocolate fountain? Try liquid gold. But not that liquid gold.

? Oh, and whoever is making the cake, you have your work cut out for you:

? The Hora will be performed using a throne

? And for the first dance? The Harlem Shake, of course:

? Absolutely no Lannisters will be invited ... you know, just to stay on the safe side

? Maybachs for everyone.

? And, of course, commemorative LeBronapalooza T-shirts.

Arabs prepare resolution criticizing threat from Israel

VIENNA, Austria? (AP) ? After a two-year hiatus, Arab nations are relaunching efforts to single out Israel for criticism at a major international conference by preparing a resolution over the country?s alleged nuclear arsenal, suggesting that the Jewish state?s refusal to acknowledge such an arsenal is threatening Middle East peace.

The Arab push was a mainstay of recent annual meetings of the 159-nation International Atomic Energy Agency, where it was usually narrowly voted down by Israel?s allies. It was suspended in 2011 and 2012, in what Arab nations viewed as a concession to keep hopes alive of high-profile talks on banning weapons of mass destruction from the Mideast.

That attempt, co-sponsored by the United States, Russia and Britain, was called off late last year. While Syria?s civil war, nuclear tensions with Iran and other Middle East frictions were cited as the official motive for the cancellation, diplomats then acknowledged that the real reason was the failure to bridge Arab-Israeli differences.

Israel has long said that a full Palestinian-Israeli peace plan must precede any creation of a Middle East zone free of weapons of mass destruction. The Israelis refuse to confirm or deny whether they have nuclear weapons. They also describe Iran and its alleged work on nuclear weapons as the real regional menace.

Iran denies wanting such arms, while it and the region?s other Muslim nations assert that Israel?s undeclared nuclear arsenal presents the greatest threat to peace in the neighbourhood. They insist that Israel should declare such weapons and join the nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty as part of any peace talks.

The renewed Arab push is reflected in a draft resolution seen by The Associated Press on Monday and endorsed by all 18 Arab members of the IAEA.

An official from one of the Arab delegations confirmed that the supporting nations even include Syria, where President Bashar Assad?s government is at odds with some of its Arab neighbours ? such as Saudi Arabia ? over its war with rebels trying to topple him.

The Arab move underscores the failure of attempts from the outside to persuade the Israelis and the Palestinians to compromise and ? if submitted for a vote at the September conference ? will exacerbate international divisions on the issue.

The resolution ?expresses concern about the Israeli nuclear capabilities, and calls upon Israel to accede to the NPT and place all of its nuclear facilities under comprehensive IAEA? purview.

The Arab official said the document was formally submitted to IAEA chief Yukiya Amano late Monday for inclusion on the conference agenda. An explanatory note from the Arab group accompanying it and seen by the AP said the resolution was timely because ?Israel alone possesses nuclear capabilities, which are undeclared and not subject to international control thus constituting a permanent threat to peace and security in the region.?

The official said the Arabs blamed ?the attitude of the United States and Israel? for the failure of the planned Mideast meeting and said Arab nations decided to resume direct criticism of Israel at the September meeting in Vienna as a result.

He demanded anonymity, saying he was not authorized to discuss the resolution and related matters because the document remains confidential until it is formally published by the IAEA as an agenda item.

Sweat Equity: From Co-Founders To Co-Investors, Freestyle.VC Invests More Than Just Cash

Team Bios | Freestyle CapitalWhen Freestyle.VC co-founder and investor Josh Felser walked into the TechCrunch office a few weeks ago, you could tell something was on his mind. He was in the midst of sorting through a hiccup one of his portfolio startups was having with the Apple App Store. As we sat down, he excused himself for a few minutes to reach out to his contacts to figure out what could be done. I don’t usually find investors this consumed with tactical issues, particularly when it’s for seed-stage startups. But that’s what makes Felser and his partner in crime, Dave Samuel, distinct in the ever-growing sea of angel and seed investors. Felser and Samuel are part of an elite group of co-founders who have not only started multiple companies together but have also seen successful exits for these companies. Together, the duo started Spinner (acquired by Aol for $320 million), and Grouper (acquired by Sony for $65 million). While Samuel and Felser had been making angel investments for some time, they announced a formal $27 million fund in 2011, Freestyle Capital, which makes investments in early-stage startups. What makes Samuel and Felser?so intriguing is that they are truly entrepreneurs at heart. They are open about the fact that if they had the bandwidth, they would start another company together. But with family commitments and such, digging into a startup is difficult. So the next best thing, they say, is to help other entrepreneurs, especially at the beginning stages of building a product and business. A Lasting Partnership Felser first met Samuel at a conference in 1996. At the time, Samuel, who is an MIT grad and engineer at heart, wanted to reimagine personalized radio online through Spinner. As Samuel explains, he needed to have someone on the team with more business and sales experience, and he immediately connected with Felser. Not soon after Felser joined Samuel in 1997, their relationship was tested. An unnamed investor came between them and attempted to oust Felser from the company. As they tell the story, this investor would tell Samuel that Felser wasn’t performing, but would say the opposite to Felser himself. But as bad as the investor’s experience was in pitting Samuel and Felser against each other, they were able to move forward and keep the company’s leadership as is. Despite this hardship, this was a turning point for Samuel and Felser’s personal and professional relationships,

Arsonists target Mpls. church, surrounding area

MINNEAPOLIS - Fire investigators are looking for the person or persons who they believe set nine separate fires in a two-hour span Thursday night into Friday morning.

The main victim of the arsons was a church known for its "Everyone is Welcome" philosophy.

The Community Covenant Church on Humbolt Avenue is considered a neighborhood treasure.

"I do not think that there is any other church in the country that is as racially mixed and really connected to doing the things that we are doing in the community," said Rick Harrin, Church member.

Oddly, the church garage was vandalized by an obscene racial slur, which Pastor Luke Swanson painted over before dawn. Swanson consoled his congregation on the fire damage to the sanctuary and smoke and water damage to the entire building. A grand piano was a total loss.

"Music is so central to our faith," said Swanson. "We have a song to sing and for someone to vandalize our church like that, we certainly are sad and our faith also tells us to pray for those who persecute us."

Sgt. Sean McKenna said the arsonist or arsonists broke a window in the church to gain access.

"At this time, I do not know if there was any additional burglary. My guess is that this fire was simply, at this time, an act of vandalism," said McKenna.

McKenna believed that the nine fires are all related. There are no suspects at this time.

"One of the beliefs that the fires may be related is perhaps the setting of the fires to the south is an attempt to draw attention away from here (the church), maybe toss us off the track of the investigation," McKenna said.

The other fires targeted trees and debris, a vehicle, a fence and several dumpsters.

McKenna appealed to the public to call the Arson Hotline at 1-800-723-2020 with any information.

Swanson said the regular Sunday services will go on in the park next to the church or in the Lincoln Prep School if it rains.
