AFC2IC maintains approximately $3M in hardware assets. Ensuring computers connected to the Air Force Global Information Grid (GIG) are properly configured is essential. The host base, 633 Communications Squadron (633 CS) or HQ ACC, provides several tools used on a daily basis to maintain the health of the network. Additionally, tools are available for preventative status checks to ensure mandated Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team (AFCERT) updates are current. Provide expertise in information storage, dissemination and retrieval. This support includes, but is not limited to, applications, file and print server maintenance and procurement, desktop system maintenance and purchasing recommendation assistance. AFC2IC places emphasis on maximizing the use of existing resources and minimizing additional future investments. Provide technical support for existing information storage, dissemination and retrieval systems. Perform preventative maintenance inspections (PMI) on storage systems. Manage permissions to shared resources using global groups and individual network accounts. Provide system administration support and provide Client System Administrator desktop support and additional Information Technology (IT) devices to any AFC2IC Directorate. Be able to respond to the following category Priority, Routine, and Scheduled as documented in the Helpdesk tracking tool. Interpret and respond to Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs) published by the host Integrated Network Operations and Security Center (INOSC) and updates from the DoD Patch Repository as directed by 633rd Communications Squadron Network Protection. Provide technical assistance to update workstations remotely (to the maximum extent possible). Interface with vendors providing warranty repair on desktop computers. Act as an Information Assurance Officer (IAO). The IAO is responsible for completing/maintaining the Information Assurance (IA) accreditation on devices connected to the SIPRNET, escorting host base IA inspection representatives performing the required Emission Security (EMSEC), completing certification and accreditation (C & A) documents, and ensuring devices comply with guidelines in AFI 33-203. Additionally, required to install/configure removable hardware devices, media converters, and fiber network interface cards (NICs). Recommend hardware and software configurations needed to implement the plans established resulting from configuring new network software parameters for the new locations and ensuring organizational change connectivity issues are resolved quickly. This includes emphasizing the use of existing resources and minimizing additional future investments. Task performance includes providing technical support for existing information dissemination and retrieval systems including web, file, and print services. Provide desktop system purchasing assistance for each division and similar activities such as workstation support and Personal Data Assistant (PDA) applications. Provide minor printer, FAX, and copier maintenance, which includes replacement of consumable components, print driver support, network connectivity, and minor upgrades where detailed instructions are provided. Coordinate with vendors to provide additional maintenance. The Government will provide all coordination involving billing for vendor provided maintenance. Be sufficiently qualified to maintain the AF Standard Desktop Configuration (SDC) software components. Be able to install, configure, and demonstrate the normal operation of SDC software components. Where authorized, by 633 CS and customer, install new software using elevated permissions. Be qualified to maintain McAfee client and troubleshoot issues related to data file updates. Maintain patches on SDC configured hardware by utilizing the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) report viewer. Utilize Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) web tools to create and maintain DRA accounts and groups. Facilitate information cross flow, ensuring AFC2IC personnel have the standardized workstation configurations, to include users having the tools needed at their disposal. This includes maintaining hardware and software in accordance with ACC standards. Maintain and ensure accountable equipment and software licenses are documented and properly inventoried in accordance with the automated data processing equipment (ADPE) database listing and/or software management listing. Will also be responsible to maintain software accountability. Additionally, shall assist in Defense Reutilization Management Office (DRMO) turn-in and equipment issue. Be qualified to serve as an alternate to manage Video Teleconference meetings.
Qualifications:
At least 3 years experience with formal training in Desktop Administration and earned a four year (BA/BS) degree in a related field of study or 7 years of experience with formal training in desktop administration
Ability to provide support and manage an organization of 350+ computers with minimal supervision
Must maintain an A+ certification (required), Security+ and/or Network + or equivalent certifications
Must have current within 90 days and working knowledge of PC Hardware Troubleshooting/Replacement
Must have current within 90 days and working knowledge of PCs and common peripheral equipment
Must have current within 90 days and working knowledge of Video teleconferencing technology
As Information Assurance Officer (IAO) must be DOD8570 certified as an Information Assurance Manager Level I.??Be proficient using standard desktop configuration (SDC) disk to image and deploy desktop and laptop computers as well as Microsoft User Migration Tool.????Be proficient in data migration and data recovery
