Caldwell collects more from Honolulu rail supporters in mayor's race

Honolulu mayoral candidate Kirk Caldwell has received more contributions from business executives and political action committees that support the city's rail project than either incumbent Mayor Peter Carlisle or the anti-rail candidate, former Hawaii Gov. Ben Cayetano.

Honolulu Civil Beat reports that campaign finance reports show Caldwell, an attorney and former acting mayor, has received at least $80,000 from executives, companies, employees and PACs affiliated with Move Oahu Forward, whose leaders include CEOs of Hawaiian Electric Industries (NYSE: HE) and the James Campbell Co. Civil Beat reports that Cayetano received about $14,000 from the same group of donors, while Carlisle received $8,000 from the same types of donors.
